WeTransfer increased the file size limit from 2GB to 3GB, and also changed its subscription plans.

WeTransfer, acquired by Bending Spoons in August, has introduced file sharing limits for its free user base. The platform, which previously allowed users to share as many files as they wished up to 2GB with no limit, will now only allow a limit of 10 transfers.

In addition to the decision, which was implemented with a new update to the support page, WeTransfer has also introduced some advantages for those who use the platform for free. First, the company increased the overall file transfer limit from 2GB to 3GB and added password protection for unlimited portals, reviews and transfers.

In April, the company introduced a new feature that allows creators to sell files directly through the platform, and with the latest updates, it has removed the 5% commission fee for paid transfers. The company also changed its overall pricing structure, introducing a new Starter package for $6.99 per month.

The company, which previously offered a $15 per month Pro and $25 per month Premium plan in the US, has now decided to create a single premium tier called WeTransfer Ultimate. All users on the Pro, Plus, Distribute, Transfer, and Collaborate plans will be switched to the $25 Ultimate plan when they come up for renewal.

WeTransfer, which implemented the changes as of December 16th, announced that it will send notifications to users who have purchased the paid subscription model one month before their subscription renews.
