Lovable, whose product GPT Engineer has a 5/5 rating on Product Hunt, envisions a future where everyone can program.

Lovable, an AI-powered coding solution for developers, raised $7.5 million in a round led by Hummingbird and Founders. Angel investors from AI companies including DeepMind and Nordic funds participated in the round.

Founded by Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin, Lovable helps developers define the desired features for websites and web applications, and then use GPT Engineer to create real-time ready-made code. The startup, which currently has a 5/5 rating on Product Hunt, aims to improve the coding process for both experienced and inexperienced developers.

Using large language models from multiple vendors such as OpenAI and Anthropic, the startup says GPT Engineer in beta is capable of reasoning. GPT Engineer autonomously builds and debugs code for application integrity and allows developers to edit projects independently.

The startup aims to address the talent gap in the $4.7 trillion software industry, which is growing by about 20% every year, and aims to scale its operations with the new cash in its coffers.

Sharing his views after the investment, Lovable co-founder Anton Osika said, “We aim to expand the world’s coding capabilities beyond the current 1% of the population who can program, and as a result, make software more accessible.”

“This investment will help us move the company towards a future where we can make large-scale improvements while allowing our users to focus solely on being creative and having fun.”
