With the acquisition deal pending regulatory approval, Pluxee wants to strengthen its position in Spain.

Pluxee, formerly Sodexo, which helps companies provide flexible benefits to their employees, has acquired Madrid-based Cobee, which enables users to manage their benefits in one place, in a deal whose financial details were not disclosed to the press.

Cobee, founded in 2018 by Borja Aranguren Herrera, Daniel Olea Martin and Nacho Travesi, offers digital solutions that allow companies to manage their employee benefits more efficiently. Accessible through both a website and an app, the startup enables employees to customize their benefits according to their individual needs.

The startup, which is growing rapidly in the European market, especially in Spain and Mexico, provides services that help modern companies meet their needs and improve the quality of life of their employees. Already working with more than 1,500 companies and serving more than 100,000 users, the startup offers more than 12 products, including meal vouchers, education, health, life insurance, physical well-being and employee discounts.

The strategic acquisition, the financial details of which were not disclosed to the press, will strengthen Pluxee’s leadership position in Spain, an underpenetrated and growing employee benefits market, by leveraging its technology capabilities globally.
