Novotel Centrum | December 10, 2024.
The security of the digital economy is one of the absolute priorities for the financial industry. The involvement of banks, as public trust institutions, in this area is important enough for them to be able to provide secure authentication services for the digital state. On the other hand, the current reality provides an overabundance of challenges for building a secure and resilient digital economy. We would like to discuss all these issues at the SafeBank 2024 conference, which will be attended by representatives from the banking sector, public administration and IT companies, as well as independent market experts.
The conference will focus on the most topical issues in the area of digital threats to the economy and the financial sector and the regulations responding to these challenges. The open armed conflict across our eastern border and the unstable situation in the Middle East are just some of the reasons for a thorough overhaul of the AML/CFT system so that it is able to provide an effective response to the threats of terrorism, including those sponsored by dictatorial governments.
Cost of participation:
Cost of participation in the conference for bank employees and academia – 399 PLN net/person
Cost of participation for a commercial company – PLN 2,000 net/person.
Failure to cancel your registration on or before 2 December 2024 and not attending the conference will result in the full cost of participation being charged.
We have divided the SafeBank agenda into four thematic blocks:
Session I
New AML legislation package
A session on the so-called AML package, including the establishment of a new authority to oversee these processes at European level.
Session II
Technology in cyber security
We will present state-of-the-art technological solutions that make it possible to significantly increase the level of protection both for financial institutions themselves and, in particular, for their clients.
Session III
Banking sector experience with the DORA implementation process
A momentous task that awaits the financial sector across the Union is the implementation of the requirements of the forthcoming DORA regulation on operational digital resilience. In this session, we will discuss what obligations this regulation will generate on the part of banks and how cooperation with IT service providers will be shaped in the new reality.
Session IV
Impact of new EU regulations in the area of payment transactions on the security of payment services
The event programme will close with a debate on the changes to EU law governing the security of payment services, with particular emphasis on the issue of unauthorised transactions. This issue has long been the subject of intense controversy, not only in the banking sector, but also among experts.
